Today you are you
That is truer than true!
There is no one alive
Who is you-er than you.

Your Little Girl Self

1 April, 2014 | English Poetry |

“Your Little Girl Self”

I’ll miss someday your artwork on walls,
and even your clumsy two year old falls.
I’ll miss our cuddles and your tender hugs,
and even the fact that you like to hold bugs.
I’ll miss your bright, infectious giggle,
and even the way you constantly wiggle.
I’ll miss how you mother your dollies with care,
and even how sometimes you don’t want to share.
I’ll miss watching you sleep at night,
and even the times when slumber you fight.
And even your pictures displayed on my shelf
won’t keep me from missing your ‘little- girl self’.

You are my I LOVE YOU

1 April, 2014 | English Poetry |

“You are my I LOVE YOU”

I am your parent, you are my child.
I am your quiet place, you are my wild.
I am your calm face, you are my giggle.
I am your wait, you are my wiggle.
I am your finish line, you are my race.
I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace.
I am your lullaby, you are my peekaboo.
I am your good-night kiss, you are my I love you.

when she saw her

1 April, 2014 | English Poetry |

“when she saw her”

When she saw her eyes for the first time
she saw an angel
When she held her in her arms
her eyes began to water
When she kissed her for the first time
she fell in LOVE

Do I accept this referral
Are you our little man
Do I cherish your smile
Your precious little hands
Yes, I do!

Do I have everything ready
And most things paid
The patience of Job
Toys and Band Aids
Yes, I do!

Do I dream of the moment
Your face I’ll adore
A place at our table
Your crumbs on the floor
Yes I do!

Do I long to be with you
And call you my child
See your perfect room
Become perfectly wild
Yes, I do!

Do I thank God in Heaven
For the gift of an amazing son
See you swimming in our tub
And flashing your cute buns
Yes, I do!

Wiggley Tooth

28 March, 2014 | English Poetry |

One day I had a wiggley tooth
that wouldn’t do it’s work.
So I tied it to a doorknob
And I pulled it with a jerk!

But since that tooth is missing,
to tell the honest truth,
My mouth feels mighty lonesome
without that wiggley tooth.

Why God Made Little Girls

26 March, 2014 | English Poetry |

“Why God Made Little Girls”

God made the world with its towering trees
Majestic mountains and restless seas
Then paused and said
“It needs one more thing
Someone to laugh and dance and sing
To walk in the woods and gather flowers
To commune with nature in quiet hours”
So God made little girls
With laughing eyes and bouncing curls
With joyful hearts and infectious smiles
Enchanting ways and feminine wiles,
And when He’d completed the task He’d begun
He was please and proud of the job He’d done
For the world, when seen through
a little girl’s eyes
Greatly resembles Paradise
